Happy 4th of July!!!

Hello...Lynda here as the guest designer for the month of July!  Happy 4th of July!!!  I hope you are spending the day with friends and family...I am so excited to share with you each Wednesday some of my favorite creations featuring chalk!

Because today is all about spending time with friends, I thought I would celebrate a special friendship with a card.  For this card, I first stamped my image using Memento ink.  I colored the base of the image using Copic markers...then comes the magic...adding chalk in places on your stamped image to add shadows...  the fantastic part about adding chalk to colored images is that if you make a mistake you simply erase the chalk and start over.  I also used chalk to color the background behind the entire image.

I hope you'll give this technique a try...I'm sure you'll find it is a super fun and easy way to add depth to any stamped project!

Happy crafting...Lynda

Supplies used:  Image:  Little Foxes by gor juss; red pattern paper:  Cosmo Cricket; Golden pattern paper:  My Minds Eye; Markers:  Copic, White Gel Pen, and chalks:  Close To My Heart

  3. Like the coloring. I'm practicing my use of chalk & posted a Lighthouse today 7/8/12 I colored with Quick Quotes chalking inks. Not the greatest like my daughter's artwork but it made me feel somewhat like an artist.
